I created the xml file but when i run the setup executable , i get a message, You need Windows 10 to continue. Please upgrade Windows and try installing Office again.
Am I doing something wrong? Selfstudy is an IT service provider. Unless everyone connecting to the RDS has a copy of Office the exact same version you are violating license terms unless you bought that many seats and have a explicit deny stopping people from connecting to RDP server.
What is that? How does that work? At this time, all end users are running Office via O O is licensed per User, so there is no need to get a license for a Server. As long as each user accessing the Server has a valid O license they can use it. Shared activation is ProPlus only. I saw in the Microsoft Volume Licensing portal that an Office license is assigned to the same end user.
I successfully installed and activated on the terminal server. I think we are good for now. Check your licensing, though. A single VL of only allows a single user to run Office If someone else logs into the RDS Server and uses it, you are violating your licensing. Just keep in mind that the accessing device needs to be licensed for ProPlus - either buying each user their own ProPlus license via Volume Licensing or upgrading their Office account to E3 or E5.
If not you are out of compliance. There are 4 total RDS clients of which only one of them needs Excel. In reality, that single users is not even going to open Excel on the server. The server is being used for QuickBooks and QB will not export reports into xlsx format as it didn't see Excel installed.
