European Brace with brass fitting A European Brace with brass fitting and 1 spoon bit. Probably used by an instrument maker. These were made by Stanley specifically for Montgomery Ward. Defiance was a line of tools introduced by the Stanley tool company. Corrugated bottom, prefered by some when working resinous woods. A great "user" plane. Small size bead planes seem hard to find. Looks to be made from various fruit woods. The pods lock into the brace by a spring mechanism, each pod has a brass ferrule and perform a different job.

Made by James Howarth of Sheffield, England. Great for use with good irons. Curved base for creating a curved surface, curves were often found on carriages - horse drawn or pulled by steam.

Makers mark W. Pendleton has been overstamped with a user name, G. The slick has a superb applied edge as can be seen in the picture.

Needs a handle. Original finish. The level is 10 inches long with a very fancy brass top. The base has brass wear plates. A pretty looking tools as well as extremely functional.

This tool has a nice brass ferrule and rosewood handle. Fully boxed bead in excellent condition. Good iron. Beautiful boxwood in crisp condition. A fence was used on this plane at some period of it's life. Really nice iron. Most original finish remains. Beech wood with push button chuck. Nice brass neck with a Rosewood head. Rosewood handle and knobs. Original finish, partial decal remains.

AWH initials on side previous owner. In excellent user or collector condition. These mantle ornaments were made by work shop apprentices to show off their skill of working with brass.
